Cleanroom Recovery Testing / Environmental Recovery Time

As part of our comprehensive cleanroom certification services, we offer cleanroom restoration testing.

Cleanrooms and clean rooms are not static environments, but environments in which work is carried out using sometimes complex methods and usually with consideration of the protection of the product, the patient or the operator. Particle Measuring Systems AG has more than 80 years of experience in the development, testing and control of systems that require this level of environmental control.

The purpose of the cleanroom recovery test is to determine the time required for the environmental conditions in a clean area to return to a specified steady-state control state after a brief particle generation event. ISO 14644-3:2005 requires two recovery tests to determine the ability of a cleanroom to recover rapidly from a high particle concentration: 1) recovery time and 2) recovery rate. Test particles are introduced into the clean area and the recovery time is obtained by measuring the time until the particle concentration in the air decreases by a predetermined factor.

PMS uses aerosol generators to create a particle event and particle counters to monitor predetermined critical points in the clean area until they return to a standstill. To test these critical elements, PMS uses instruments that are fully calibrated by a Swiss accredited third party laboratory, maintaining our impartiality. Audit-ready calibration certificates are provided with your final report.
